Bernie Aronson

Bernie Aronson is the CEO of Kilopass Technology Inc., a provider of embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP). Aronson was formerly Chief Executive Officer at Synplicity Inc. Prior to joining Synplicity and taking the company public in 2000, Mr. Aronson was senior vice-president and co-general manager of the EPIC Technology Group at Synopsys, Inc. Before Synopsys, he was president of EPIC Design Technology, Inc., where he took the company through a successful initial public offering in 1994. Mr. Aronson was also founder and president of Pico Design, a design services company based in Silicon Valley with design centers in Taiwan, which was sold to Motorola, and also was Executive Vice-president at Zoran Corp.

Ronnie Vasishta

Ronnie Vasishta assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of eASIC Corporation, a private fabless chip company within the configurable logic market, after serving as the company's first Executive VP of Marketing. Prior to joining eASIC, Ronnie Vasishta was Vice President of Technology Marketing at LSI Logic where he spent 17 years of his career. In this position he oversaw LSI Logic’s strategic technology direction and direct marketing support for customers, sales, vertical market groups and design centers. He was also charged with the definition and development of LSI Logic's technology products including silicon technologies, advanced packaging, mixed-signal, embedded memory, I/Os and methodologies.

Most recently he was responsible for the definition, marketing and ramp of LSI Logic’s RapidChip product line. Prior to LSI Logic, Vasishta held process and test engineering positions at Motorola Incorporated and STC Semiconductor.

Vasishta is a well-known and respected speaker on the subject of semiconductor fabrication and design, EDA, ASIC applications and dynamics as well as industry trends. He's presented at venues such as the Design Automation Conference (DAC), DesignCon, Embedded Systems Conference, ACM International Symposium on Field-Programmable Gate Arrays, Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA), IEEE events plus others.

Paul McLellan

Paul McLellan is an EDA and semiconductor veteran who has held senior management positions heading Marketing, Engineering and Geographic Regions. He is a recognized expert in the EDA industry having delivered Keynote addresses at industry and international conferences. Presently he is an independent consultant providing strategy, marketing and technology consulting to the electronic design automation and semiconductor industries. He most recently was Vice President, Marketing at VaST Systems Technology. Prior to this, he was at Cadence as Corporate Vice-President, Custom IC Product Line and Corporate Vice-President, Strategic Marketing. He was with Ambit Design Systems as Vice-President, Engineering. Ambit was acquired by Cadence for $300M. Prior to this, he was President of Compass Design Automation.

Paul has Ph.D. from Edinburgh University, Scotland, in Computer Science and M.A. from Cambridge University, England in Computer Science.

Danny Biran

Danny is VP of Product and Corporate Marketing at Altera Corporation. Previously Danny was the President & CEO of Silverback Systems, a privately-held fabless semiconductor company that develops and markets solutions for networked storage. He joined Silverback from LSI Logic where he most recently was Vice President & General Manager of the Wireless Division, and before that Vice President of Strategic Marketing for the company. Prior to joining LSI Logic Danny worked for National Semiconductor in a variety of engineering, marketing, and management roles.

Danny served as a member of the board of directors of Adaptive Silicon Inc, and is a member of the board of advisors of a number of private companies.

Dr. M. Balakrishnan

Dr. Balakrishnan is an Expert of CAD for VLSI and Computer Architecture, has more than 25 years of research experience in this area. His other research areas are High-level synthesis, High-level design & modeling, FPGA based design & design tools, Hardware-software co-design. M. Balakrishnan is currently a Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at I.I.T. Delhi. He has held visiting positions in University of Guelph, Canada, University of Syracuse, USA, University of Kiel, Germany and University of Dortmund, Germany

Dr. Balakrishnan obtained his B.E. (Hons.) in Electronics & Electrical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India with the 1st rank in 1977 and Ph.D from IIT Delhi in 1985. He has published 45 papers in leading international journals like IEEE Trans. on CAD and ACM Trans, on Design Automation and conferences including DAC, ICCAD, CODES and ASP-DAC.

He is also a reviewer for many leading journals including IEEE Trans. on CAD, IEEE Trans. on VLSI, ACM Trans, on Design Automation and conferences including DAC, ODES, ISSS.

Dr. Balakrishnan has been a recipient of the NRDC invention award and also he was the Program Chair of VLSI Design 1995, an International conference held in Jan 1995 in New Delhi, India. He has been a key member of the VDTT group and was involved in starting the very successfully industry sponsored interdisciplinary program on VLSI Design, Tools and Technology.

Dr. Balakrishnan worked as a Scientist in CARE, IIT Delhi from 1977 to 1985 where he was involved in designing and implementing real-time DSP systems. He is also an expert member on the Technology Committee of the Department of Posts, Govt. of India.
